Comparison
Healthixio vs Practo Ray
Clinic software is not hospital software. What to move to when you start admitting patients.
Facts on this page were verified against public sources on 13 August 2026. Where a vendor does not publish a figure, we say so rather than estimating it.
Practo Ray is practice management software built around clinics and individual practitioners — appointments, records and clinic billing — and is billed per user. Practices usually start looking for an alternative at one specific moment: when they begin admitting patients. Beds, wards, IPD billing, discharge summaries, a pharmacy counter and a pathology lab are hospital problems, and clinic software is not designed for them.
Practo Ray
Pricing via third parties onlyPer user, per month
Practo is billed on a per-user basis. Third-party directory listings have cited a figure of approximately ₹1,277 per user per month for Practo, accessible for 2 to 1,000+ users. We were unable to load Practo's own pricing page directly at the time of writing, so treat that figure as indicative and confirm with the vendor. The structural point holds regardless of the exact rate: on a per-user model, cost scales with how many people log in.

Where Practo Ray is strong
No software is right for every hospital, including ours. These are genuine reasons to put Practo Ray on your shortlist.
- Genuinely strong at what it is built for — outpatient clinic workflow and practice management
- Well-known consumer brand, with patient discovery and online booking reach few can match
- Clean, familiar interface that clinic staff learn quickly
- A sensible choice for a single-doctor or small multi-doctor clinic with no beds
Where Healthixio works differently
The switch usually happens when the first bed arrives
Admissions, ward and bed status, medicine schedules, IPD billing, final bills, discharge summaries and birth certificates are a different category of software from appointment management. If you are running any of those on spreadsheets alongside clinic software, that is the signal to move.
Per-user billing at hospital headcount
A clinic has two or three logins. A hospital has reception across shifts, billing, pharmacy, lab, store and admin. On a per-user monthly model that headcount is the bill. Healthixio bundles named users into the bed slab and charges ₹3,000 a year for extras.
If you have not started admitting patients yet
You may not need a hospital system at all. Healthixio OPD Only is ₹14,000 for the first year and ₹7,000 a year after that, with 3 named users, covering appointments, queue, registration, EMR, digital prescriptions and OPD billing. Move up to the full HMIS when the beds arrive.
Which one should you choose?
Choose Practo Ray if…
Stay on Practo Ray if you run a pure outpatient clinic with a small team, value the patient-discovery and online-booking reach of the Practo consumer platform, and have no plans to admit patients.
Choose Healthixio if…
Move to Healthixio when you start admitting patients, when you add a pharmacy counter or a pathology lab, when TPA and Ayushman claims become part of your revenue, or when per-user charges start scaling faster than your practice does.
Frequently asked
What is the best Practo Ray alternative for a hospital in India?+
The right alternative depends on whether you have beds. For an outpatient clinic, most practice management tools are interchangeable. Once you admit patients you need IPD, ward and bed management, medicine schedules, IPD billing, discharge summaries, pharmacy and pathology — which is hospital software. Healthixio covers all of it at ₹40,000 a year for up to 20 beds, with pricing published in full.
Can I move my existing patient data across?+
Yes. Data migration from your existing system is included in the Healthixio subscription along with onboarding and staff training — there is no separate migration charge.
I only run OPD. Is a full hospital system overkill?+
Probably, and you should not pay for one. Healthixio OPD Only is ₹14,000 for the first year and ₹7,000 a year afterwards with 3 named users, covering appointments, queue, registration, EMR, digital prescriptions and OPD billing, with no bed-based charge. You can upgrade to the complete HMIS when you start admitting patients.
